Laying a Solid Foundation with Precision,
Breaking New Ground with Intelligence
—— An Exclusive Interview with Mr. Klaus Kerth, Managing Director of FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) Precision Components (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., by Manufacture & Upgrading Today
At the recently concluded 14th China CNC Machine Tool Fair (CCMT 2026) held in Shanghai, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) Precision Components (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) Precision Components (Shanghai)”) made a strong appearance with its core products – the Orange Tables series rotary tables, the FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) Control all‑in‑one control system, precision transfer systems and more. At the same time, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) officially announced a major market strategy: all businesses except rotary tables would be consolidated into a new company, ORANGE SYSTEMS SOLUTION, marking its transformation from a traditional precision component supplier to a high‑end automation system solution provider.

At the exhibition, Mr. Klaus Kerth, Managing Director of FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai), gave an exclusive interview to a journalist from Manufacture & Upgrading Today. Through Mr. Kerth’s detailed introduction, the image of a company with more than 60 years of German precision manufacturing heritage became increasingly vivid: In the midst of China’s intelligent manufacturing upgrade, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) is writing a new chapter anchored by technological innovation and rooted in a local‑first strategy.
Ingenuity and Precision: Product Renewal Demonstrates the Determination to Transform
Looking back over more than six decades, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) has deeply cultivated high‑precision positioning technology and won recognition from a large number of industrial users for its extreme accuracy. At CCMT 2026, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai)’s product matrix was not only a showcase of technical strength but also a concrete expression of its strategic transformation.

The newly launched Orange Tables series was the centerpiece of the show. The first flagship product, the D.NC.2.01, has its core components sourced from Europe and is fully assembled in China, combining German craftsmanship with Chinese market efficiency. It is ready for operation as soon as it is powered on, with a simple and efficient commissioning process, covering most general industrial precision machining scenarios. Meanwhile, the second model, the D.NC.2.03, will be officially launched in the second quarter of 2026. The entire series originates from the core needs of local customers, achieving a precise fit between standardised products and customised requirements.
Launched alongside the Orange Tables series, the FIBRO Control all‑in‑one control system is the core underlying support for FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai)’s automation solutions. As an integrated, one‑stop control solution, the system enables coordinated control of rotary tables, precision transfer systems, and robotic equipment within a single software architecture. It covers a wide voltage range from 1×110V to 3×480V AC, accommodates motors up to 40 kW, and supports five operation modes as well as digital twin simulation. Its greatest breakthrough is that it breaks the traditional industry pain point of “locking indexing parameters at the time of order, with no adjustment possible once the line is installed”. Customers can adjust indexing and operating parameters at any time as needed, giving production lines unprecedented flexibility.
In addition, the Orange Conveyors precision link conveyor system and robot‑integrated automation solutions also made their appearance, forming a complete technology loop with the core products.

“The newly established ORANGE SYSTEMS SOLUTION is precisely the core vehicle for FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai)’s strategic transformation,” said Mr. Klaus Kerth. “With four business divisions, its products and systems can cover more than 40 industries and over 60 process scenarios, marking FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai)’s formal transition from a ‘precision component supplier’ to a ‘full-process system solution provider’.”
Growing Together: Deep Localisation Empowers Smart Manufacturing Upgrades
When talking about the strategic positioning in the Chinese market, Mr. Klaus Kerth repeatedly emphasised the core strategy: “In China, By China, For China.” “China is not only a globally important manufacturing base, but also a key component of FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai)’s global innovation network.” In his view, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai)’s localization is by no means a simple product adaptation, but a deep-rooted commitment across the entire chain of supply chain, R&D and service.
On the manufacturing front, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) has rebuilt its delivery system with local supply chains. The Orange Tables series is assembled in China, with structural components sourced locally, completely eliminating the delivery cycles and cost fluctuations caused by customs clearance and cross‑border transportation, achieving a six‑week local delivery efficiency. At the same time, it adheres to German standard processes, testing and quality control, delivering “German quality without compromise, local efficiency at its best”.

On the R&D front, the local engineering team works closely with the headquarters in Weinsberg, gradually shifting from “adapting German designs” to “jointly developing local-specific products”, so that technology development truly meets the actual needs of Chinese manufacturing.
On the service front, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) has set up a local spare parts warehouse and equipped it with a senior technical team with more than ten years of industry experience, achieving a 48-hour service response. In some cases, it can even provide technical service support back to the German headquarters, making local service capability a core competitive advantage.
These localization initiatives resonate deeply, almost as if by coincidence, with the policy direction of China’s 15th Five‑Year Plan, which emphasises high‑end and intelligent manufacturing upgrades. “Equipment renewal, intelligent upgrade of production lines, full-lifecycle service protection – these are not only the direction of policy guidance, but also the core needs of the market and customers,” Mr. Kerth said. He believes that the Five‑Year Plan does not start a new trend from scratch, but rather accurately summarises an ongoing wave of manufacturing upgrades. “FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai)’s current layout happens to be in perfect resonance with this trend: for equipment renewal, we have high‑cost‑performance precision rotary tables; for line upgrades, we have integrated automation solutions; and for local service systems, we fully meet the policy requirements for service‑oriented manufacturing.”

Faced with the involution and local substitution wave in China’s machine tool industry, as well as the cost reduction pressures on high‑end manufacturing enterprises, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) has developed its own response. Mr. Kerth noted that in the future market, the structure of new equipment business versus retrofit and upgrade business for existing equipment will change fundamentally. The traditional 70‑80% share of new business will gradually shift toward retrofit and upgrade services. A President who is still deeply versed in product details, he explained: “By upgrading only core components and system optimisation, customers can improve line precision and efficiency without replacing the entire machine, achieving a line upgrade at lower cost and in a shorter cycle." This is not only a core strategy for responding to market changes, but also an important extension of FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai)’s local service capability.”
Breaking New Ground through Innovation: Ecosystem Co‑creation for the Future
In today’s increasingly fierce global competition in high‑end manufacturing, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai)’s ability to navigate industry cycles and stay ahead lies in its irreplaceable differentiated competitive advantages. Mr. Kerth candidly stated that FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai)’s core competitiveness stems from three unassailable barriers.
First, the dual technical capability in machine tools and automation. FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) is one of only three companies worldwide that simultaneously master since decades the core technologies of machine tool rotary tables and automated motion systems. It can provide customers with a single‑interface full‑process service, avoiding interface mismatches and integration risks that arise from multi‑supplier coordination.
Second, full-chain system integration capability. From rotary tables, transfer systems, control electronics to robot integration, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) can supply all products from a single source, building a unified control architecture around the FIBRO Control, significantly reducing customers’ integration costs and technical barriers.
Third, the deep integration of German engineering standards with complete local infrastructure. FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) is by no means a simple sales office; it is an independent operating entity with its own local assembly, R&D testing, quality control and service chain systems. Without compromising technical standards, it achieves extreme responsiveness in the local market.

Based on these core technical strengths, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) has developed deeply customised industry solutions for China’s high-end manufacturing core sectors. In automotive and new energy, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) has provided the FIBROTOR system for heavy-load battery handling (several tons) for a well‑known truck platform, and high-precision rotary tables for a well‑known automotive manufacturer – high-speed, high-precision performance to meet the stringent requirements of new energy production lines. In the medical and dental fields, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) has delivered a dedicated high‑speed sorting and packaging solution for a global leading pharmaceutical company, and developed a small, high‑precision rotary table of 200 mm diameter for dental orthodontic bracket production, meeting the ultra‑precision machining needs of miniature work pieces. In the 3C electronics sector, the compact size of the Orange Tables series precisely matches the core requirement for miniaturised processing of 3C products.
Looking ahead to the next 3‑5 years, Mr. Kerth said that FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) will anchor its long‑term development on three core directions. First, focus on deepening and innovating application solutions, promoting the adaptation and implementation of application solutions across different countries. Second, deepen system capability building, working closely with partners in fields such as optical measurement to create integrated, complete solutions. Third, deepen local ecosystem collaboration, engaging in industry‑university‑research linkages with Tongji University and other academic and research institutions, leveraging the Heilbronn AI industry‑university‑research platform to integrate AI technologies into the development of core products such as intelligent rotary tables, and continuously empowering China’s manufacturing upgrade through technological innovation.
Conclusion
After more than 60 years of refinement, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) has navigated the cycles of manufacturing with extreme precision. After more than a decade of deep cultivation in China, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) has understood the pulse of China’s intelligent manufacturing development through local symbiosis. From precision components to system solutions, from German craftsmanship to deep local roots, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai)’s transformation journey is both a vivid example of how a foreign enterprise can integrate into China’s manufacturing ecosystem and the best illustration of how a high-end manufacturer can embrace industrial upgrade through technological innovation.
Going forward, FIBRO Precision Components (Shanghai) will remain true to its original precision mission, take innovation as its wing and localization as its root, walk hand in hand with China’s manufacturing industry, and embark on a new journey of intelligent upgrade.
